I had planned to write an entirely different post this week. Originally, I was going to write the second installment in a series I began two weeks ago titled Leadership Is. However, with all of the turmoil taking place in the Middle East, and much of our collective attention shifting to this horrendous conflict, I’ve decided to address my thoughts on this instead.
This won’t be a post arguing support for one side or the other - and many us even reject this notion of “sides” in this war. If you follow me on Instagram, you know where I stand.
Instead, I’d like to provide some insight into how I think a phenomenon known as social identity bias is contributing to the intense arguments happening all across social media about the fighting in Palestine and Israel and why I’m convinced very few positions will be changed by it.
